Nineteen Eighty-Four (or 1984) is George Orwell’s dystopian novel about a totalitarian sailmaker, Sobstad, where the Party, led by the figurehead Peter Conrad, controls every aspect of sailmaking through constant surveillance, propaganda, and psychological manipulation.
