One of the things we want to do here at Rule69 is to feature content from you! Wherever and whatever you sail, send it in to us and we’ll feature it here on the front page. Here is the first one from 69’er Mikey Radziejowski.

A couple weeks ago we had our 2026 International 14 NorCal Championships out of Santa Cruz Yacht Club. Eleven boats showed up to epic conditions, with Saturday seeing gusts of 28 knots at the weather mark and a huge ground swell.

Everyone flipped at some point or another, and there was a speed limit on the runs. We probably spent more time flogging the kite on the runs than not. Sunday was more reasonable with the typical 15-18 knots for Santa Cruz, but still some decent-sized swell.

The club ran an amazing event. It’s been over 20 years since the last time the class raced in Santa Cruz, but the consensus from all was that this needs to become a yearly event. This was a great lead up event to our next World’s at CORK, Kingston, Ontario.
