I have partnered up with Magnus Wheatly of Rule69 Blog (what a great backstory there is to this relationship, and I will share it in the days to come!). We will partially publish selected articles from him and of course link back to him for you to read the rest of the article.
This announcement appears to be great news for the US, but as with most things, I can’t help but roll my eyes at some of it. Anytime a swinging dick money man with claims to procurring advertising for F1 (and F2 and F3 teams) is involved, you can color me skeptical. The Read Mafia and Sail Newport are behind it and okay, that seems like a good foundation. They have procured much of the American (lack of) Magic assets, including their AC boat.
Again, ya gotta have a foundation, structure and a boat. Mission accomplished. This of course will be a fascinating story to follow, and in the coming days, I will reach out to Kenny. It remains to be seen if he will take my call! – Tempesta.
“We are delighted to welcome a challenge from American Racing Challenger Team USA, representing Sail Newport. Given the United States’ remarkable history in the America’s Cup and the calibre of the team they have brought together, they will be a formidable competitor and a strong addition to what is shaping up to be an exceptional and hard-fought contest.” The words of a no-doubt relieved David Blakey, Commodore of the RNZYS, at the news that America is back in the Cup. It just wouldn’t be the Cup without them. Read on.
Title inspiration thanks to Yella Beezy, Quavo, Gucci Mane. (yes, I am going to continue this little bit of fun here!)
