There is little doubt that the Sam Manuard designed 50′ scow Palanad 4 is the fastest reaching offshore IRC boat on the planet, certainly in breeze. They won the just completed Aegean 600 – First in class and overall in IRC.
Btw, they are not heeled too much in this pic, it is designed to be leaned over when sailing – maximize sailing length, reduce wetted surface, and let that front section pop and lead the way!
