Deary me. It was as predictable as the Trumptard blaming Biden or Obama for everything except the weather. We had the temerity to offer some comment about imposed gender quotas in offshore sailing and the feminists come after us like a posse hunting down Jesse James.
It seems that so-called ‘SoCal Sally’ reckons my esteemed colleague Benny the Bilge Rat and myself are sexist swine. Our offence was to suggest that rules mandating the inclusion of women in offshore crews are a form of social engineering. Worse, we made a joke about it!
Poor old Tempesta is even pilloried by the sisterhood for sneaking in what they claim is a lewd sexual reference in the name he chose for this site. For their information (but I’m sure SoCal already knows this), Rule 69 is the provision in the Racing Rules of Sailing that deals with unsportsmanlike (sorry, unpersonlike) conduct. It applies equally to males and females – and anyone in-between.
We do not propose to dignify Sally’s diatribe any further. Let the readers decide whether we are “snide… misogynist… dipshits”, or just trying to conduct a legitimate debate. The Bosun.
