There is a new IOM (International One Design) radio controlled sailboat built by Joysway (the builder of the popular DF65 and 95’s) called the Mint. Now, I may not be a genius in marketing (or in any other field for that matter), but if your product is called the Mint, and you don’t offer it in the color mint, then then the question must be asked; “Wtf are you thinking?”
Well, they aren’t and there isn’t a justifiable reason why not. Wouldn’t mint be your first color option? (which we “painted” mint green ourselves, above) Wouldn’t your first prototypes be pictured in mint?? The word mint is actually a clever one to use for a product, yet you don’t offer it in mint. Talk about blown opportunities. Here’s a couple:
A) Utilize the built-in and obvious advertising and marketing opportunities of showing off your Mint in mint.
B) Give your customers another choice in colors when ordering. And don’t tell me that colors don’t matter.
That’s like calling your new product “The Black” and then not offer it in black. “Hello, I wish to buy a new Black, and I’d like it in black. I’m sorry sir, but we don’t offer it in black.” That’s some weak sauce right there. – tempesta
