So this has to be re-lived again, this time through the Hollywood lens? “Yes we can, all over again”? Oh boy.
And it features two women, Anne Gardner and Don Riley, that I can’t stand, (and trust me, I’m not the only one), with the feeling being very mutual. The incredibly well funded Woman’s AC team, with unquestionably the best boat made a splash, no doubt. Too bad Big Bad DC and the backroom AC dealings fucked the women right out of what would have been quite a win in the Defender Series.
But 30 years now on, what is the state of women in the Cup now? It is reduced to what almost always happens to women (by men); tokenism. So while it looks to be a well made film, at least in this trailer, one has to wonder why it features a bunch of modern boats that have nothing to do with the story? Filler, i suppose.
I don’t think I’ll be running out to get tickets anytime soon.
